Greeley Tribune: District was right to remove swings from schools after girl’s death
We appreciate the careful and quick assessment by Greeley-Evans School District 6 to determine the safety of its swing sets that are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
It seems like the proper thing to do after the death of Brooklyn Thill, 6, who became entangled in one of the swings and later died Dec. 8.
The district removed similar swing sets at Centennial Elementary and Northridge and Greeley Central high schools to make sure they’re safe to use.
We are not experts, but we are doubtful the district will find anything wrong with the swings. Greeley police ruled her death accidental, and TFH swings didn’t have any product recalls.
