The Pueblo Chieftain editorial: New jobs for Pueblo

Pueblo will add up to 32 jobs for the local workforce, according to recent announcements by PuebloPlex and the Pueblo Economic Development Corp.

The news includes 15 to 20 workers to be added by New Mexico-based manufacturer CR Minerals at the industrial park at the south end of Pueblo, announced by PEDCO. Also a dozen workers have been hired by Vestas for the wind tower manufacturer’s railcar fleet operations based at PuebloPlex, a former section of Pueblo Chemical Depot being converted into an industrial and business park east of the city.

CR Minerals will invest upward of $10 million here, including construction of a plant to be located near the Vestas wind turbine towers and Rocla concrete rail tie factories. The company will produce a construction additive made up of fly ash, pumice and other materials as an alternative to fly ash in areas of short supply.
