The Fort Collins Coloradoan: Humility in action brings better results

When you’re in a leadership position, nothing is more fraught with anxiety than a serious examination of your organization’s culture. We become exposed and vulnerable to the unknown.

It is even more difficult for leadership to then be transparent with that self-examination as it progresses, to disclose the findings and to commit publicly to specific actions open for all stakeholders.

Colorado State University has just released two studies that disclosed troubling gender and minority pay and promotion issues.

Leadership, at all levels, is responsible for change. CSU has committed to changing policy and holding those responsible for instituting change accountable. We, the Coloradoan and the Editorial Board, also commit to our continuing role as a watchdog and reporting organization.
