The Pueblo Chieftain editorial: Be advised: Don’t think we’re lax on marijuana grow rules
Yes, Colorado has legalized retail marijuana. And, yes, Pueblo city voters have OK’d the establishment of several retail pot stores within the city limits.
But that doesn’t mean that all of a sudden we Coloradans and Puebloans don’t care about the law.
So be advised, those of you who might be considering setting up illegal grows in Pueblo County. Our law enforcement officers will find you and arrest you. And you’ll likely end up in federal court, followed by a forced stay at one of our nation’s fine federal prisons.
In case you’re wondering if we’re bluffing, look no further than a recent story in The Pueblo Chieftain. We reported that Floridians who moved to Pueblo West to grow large amounts of marijuana that was used for drug trafficking are now paying the price for violating federal law.
