A reminder that Neil Gorsuch once interned for Bill Armstrong…

Naturally, they’re pleased by the Senate’s confirmation of the Gorsuch nomination.
Not just because of their philosophical affinity for Neil Gorsuch, the Denver-based U.S. Court of Appeals judge now elevated to the highest court in the land. And not just because of his Colorado origins. But also because of his onetime affiliation with the late U.S. Sen. and CCU President Bill Armstrong. We’ll let Centennial Director Jeff Hunt tell it, as he did in an email newsletter to supporters earlier today:
When I met with Judge Gorsuch a few months ago, he told me at one point he served as an intern for Senator Bill Armstrong, our beloved former President at Colorado Christian University.
It doesn’t surprise me. Senator Armstrong attracted great talent and invested in shaping the next generation of our country’s leaders. As President of Colorado Christian University, he would often say that a future U.S. Senator, Congressperson, Supreme Court Justice, even President could come from this great university.
Even if that doesn’t exactly make the nation’s newest Supreme Court justice a CCU alum – there are a few more degrees of separation – Hunt figures it rates a shout-out.
Good enough for us. We’ll spread the word.
