Loveland Reporter-Herald editorial: Gorsuch will be a worthy U.S. justice

When the editorial board expressed concern before the presidential election that ultimately brought Republican Donald Trump to power, one of the topics under consideration was that of selecting Supreme Court justices.

The board struggled with the fact that Democrat Hillary Clinton was much more likely to nominate an activist judge to the position instead of a person who would more closely adhere to the tenets stated in the U.S. Constitution.

Much to his credit, President Trump has nominated a resoundingly traditional, eminently qualified federal appellate judge for a lifetime appointment to the nation’s highest court.

And he’s a Coloradan.
