FBI Denver division gets new special agent in charge
The FBI in Denver has a new special agent in charge.
He is Timothy Slater, who was previously the deputy assistant director of the Quantico, Virginia-based Critical Incident Response Group. The division provides guidance in crisis management, negotiations, behavioral analysis, explosives and tactical operations.
The FBI said Tuesday Slater will assume his new role in Denver in September.
Slater replaces Thomas Ravenelle, who oversaw the Denver division since 2013 and was transferred to FBI headquarters, in Washington D.C.
Slater joined the FBI in 1999 as a member of a violent crimes task force in Detroit. He has served in leadership roles in the Criminal Investigative Division, as senior supervisory resident agent in the Oklahoma City division and in the Knoxville office.
He is also a certified police instructor and former SWAT team member.
