DENVER – One day to the New Hampshire primary. Today, an unusual Monday — one with cause for celebration. The Denver Broncos are now three-time Super Bowl champs! Yes, they won Super Bowl 50, 24-10, against the Carolina Panthers yesterday … in case you were living under a rock this weekend.

Bernie Sanders called it on Meet the Press before the big game yesterday, telling host Chuck Todd warily, “Maybe the Broncos,” when asked who he picked to win the Super Bowl. The presidential candidate did not claim himself a fan of the Orange, however, stating he was rooting for the New England Patriots, but said he was “afraid that’s not going to happen.”

Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, is going to Flint, Michigan. Her pivot-master-worthy answer to Todd when asked the same question, here on video.

Rosenthal hosts his annual Super Bowl pizza party — In what has become an annual fixture event, Rep. Paul Rosenthal hosted a Super Bowl pizza party at Beau Jos on Colorado Blvd. with reportedly over 100 of his House District 9 constituents, friends and reporters showing up at the event.

Speaking of Paul Rosenthal, he has endorsed Steve Sherick, Michael Carriganand Lucky Vidmar in their respective campaigns … just in case you were wondering.

Negative factor will see a reduction this year — From the JBC via Sen. Pat Steadman, the school finance formula’s negative factor will actually be reduced this year by an average of $18 per pupil thanks to an overestimate on enrollment. The resulting total remaining negative factor will still sit at minus$831 million.

Saine draws a primary challenge — Second-term state Rep. Lori Saine  has a primary challenger in House District 63. Colleen Whitlow, a town trustee in Mead, is seeking to challenge Saine this year. Whitlow told the Greeley Tribune she is challenging Saine to bring active leadership to the district. “I want to be a team with the whole district, not just myself,” Whitlow said via phone interview with the Tribune. What she was implying specifically in regards to Saine’s service we know not at this time.

HD63 Finance report: Saine has $14,168.90 cash on hand as of her January 15 filing with the SOS. Whitlow has not filed a report yet due to her committee filing falling after the deadline. Is Marco Rubio a robot? Chris Christie thinks so — Conspiracy theorists far and wide have begun speculating that Marco Rubio is, in fact, some sort ofManchurian candidate — perhaps a former CIA cyborg agent planted in this presidential race to win and then commence to taking over the world. The theory takes root in the ABC News Republican presidential debate hosted at St. Anselm College in Manchester, N.H. Saturday night. During the debate, Rubio “short-circuited” repeating the same canned line several consecutive times. Christie pounced on the programming error, drawing applause from the audience.

In fairness, I think all of us Manchurians working in this business have short-circuited a few times. For us seasoned veterans, the secret is making sure to reboot your internal CPU at least once every 24 hours — especially leading up to a big debate.

Rep. Crisanta Duran helped CBS4 get the word out last night. Denver has announced its victory celebration parade for tomorrow, Tuesday, February 9. Will the Capitol shut down? Rep. Steve Humphrey wouldn’t mind that. Veteran 9News Weatherman Marty Coniglio swears the weather will be “sunny, mild and dry for the Broncos victory parade and rally Tuesday afternoon.”

All three Democratic candidates for Senate District 31 will participate in a forum. Additionally, CD challenger Chuck Norris — no not that Chuck Norris — will make his case for running against Congresswoman Diana DeGette. Because DeGette is in D.C., her husband, Lino Lipinsky, will fill in for her.
