Bondi calls lawsuits and injunctions against Trump orders ‘constitutional crisis’

Attorney General Pam Bondi pushed back on the notion that President Donald Trump would defy rulings handed down to him by the Supreme Court.

She argued that the true “constitutional crisis” is the high volume of lawsuits that have been filed against the Trump administration and the judge’s rulings against the White House.

“Just since Jan. 20, we’ve had over 170 lawsuits filed against us. That should be the constitutional crisis right there, 50 injunctions,” Bondi told Shannon Bream on Fox News Sunday.

“They’re popping up every single day, trying to control his executive power, trying to control where he believes our tax dollars should be allocated,” she said.

Trump and Bondi have responded to the judicial rulings against them by attacking judges and in some cases calling for their impeachment. They have contended that the judges are overstepping their authority by issuing injunctions on federal cases. In reality, federal judges do have the power to put a pause on laws nationwide they deem unconsitutional.

DEMOCRATIC ATTORNEYS GENERAL EMERGE AS SOME OF THE ONLY REAL RESISTANCE AGAINST TRUMP 2.0

During the Sunday interview, Bondi highlighted the administration’s difficulty in its planned ban on transgender troops from serving in the military. Two judges blocked the effort, calling it overtly discriminatory.

“It’s basically a game of whack-a-mole with these District Court judges around the country who have a tremendous amount of power; they believe they do,” she said. “But that’s why we’re appealing all of these cases, of course, up to the Supreme Court.”
