WATCH LIVE: House GOP leaders hold press conference as funding bill vote looms
House Republican leadership is holding a press conference as Congress seeks to avert a government shutdown set for this Friday.
The press conference will begin at 10 a.m. from Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA), House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN), House Republican Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-MI), and Rep. Celeste Maloy (R-UT), are expected to speak.
JOHNSON FACES UNITY TEST ON SPENDING DEAL AS DEMOCRATS PROMISE NOT TO HELP GOP
The news conference comes as Johnson attempts to pass through a continuing resolution Tuesday to fund the government through the end of September with his narrow majority in the House, as Democrats insist they will oppose the stopgap measure.
