Jon Stewart’s Daily Show ‘delighted’ to do unedited interview with Elon Musk

The Daily Show has invited Elon Musk to an unedited interview with Jon Stewart following the late-night host’s viral rant on the Department of Government Efficiency

Musk, encouraged by an X user to go on Stewart’s show, said he would “if the show airs unedited.” Since then, the show’s X account has accepted Musk’s request.

@elonmusk we’d be delighted!” The post read.

The invitation to Musk comes after Stewart, who returned to host the Daily Show once a week last year, directed his criticism toward DOGE. Stewart acknowledged the government ought to eliminate waste but took issue with how the “MAGA world” and DOGE are conducting business. At one point, Stewart vented his frustration by smashing his coffee cup on his desk, later showing a bloodied hand and claiming, “It’s fine.”

Musk recently conducted a joint interview with President Donald Trump, during which the billionaire revealed that in addition to cutting government waste, DOGE is committed to ensuring presidential executive orders are enforced. Musk also revealed his aim to eliminate $1 trillion from the nation’s deficit, claiming the United States will “go bankrupt” if the deficit is not brought under control.

Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday directing the heads of government agencies to “seamlessly” record every payment issued by the agency.
