Three Colorado cities rank among metro areas with sharpest unemployment rate increases
A new report from work management software company Asana found three Colorado cities among the ten metro areas with the fastest-rising unemployment rates.
Greeley ranked third on the list, with an unemployment rate that has increased over 69% from 2019 to 2024, from 2.6% to 4.4%. Boulder ranked fifth, with a 66% increase in unemployment rates, from 2.4% in 2019 to 4% in 2024. Fort Collins experienced the seventh-fastest rise in unemployment, going from a 2.3% unemployment rate in 2024 to 3.8% in 2024, a 65% increase.
Kokomo, Indiana, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Spartanburg, South Carolina were the other cities that rounded out the top five.
El Paso Co looking for volunteer to serve on Community Development Advisory Board
The El Paso County Board of Commissioners is looking for a citizen volunteer to serve on its Community Development Advisory Board. The board reviews matter related to the county’s Community Development Block Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, which is used for a number of development initiatives, including revitalizing neighborhoods, providing improved community facilities and services, and developing the county’s economy.
The volunteer must currently reside in County Commissioner District 1. Meetings are typically held the third Wednesday of the month at 12:30 p.m. at the Economic Development Office at 9 E. Vermijo in Colorado Springs.
