FBI raids former Hochul aide Linda Sun’s home

Linda Sun, one of Gov. Kathy Hochul’s (D-NY) former deputy chiefs of staff, had her home raided by the FBI on Tuesday, the New York Times reported.

The home, a $3.5 million abode on Long Island’s North Shore, was raided with no obvious reason why.

A spokesman for the FBI told the Washington Examiner agents from the bureau’s New York office had “conducted court-authorized law enforcement activity” at the home. The U.S. attorney’s office in Brooklyn obtained the warrant for the search, according to the outlet.

No arrests were made at the home where Sun, 40, and her husband, Chris Hu, 41, live. The Washington Examiner reached out to Hochul’s office but did not receive a response.

Sun formerly worked as the chief of staff to Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY) when she was state assemblywoman and served under former Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Hu operates a liquor store in Queens and has incorporated several other businesses.

It is unclear when the FBI agents first arrived at the gated community where Sun and Hu live, which is called Stone Hill, but a security guard there told the outlet that agents were there twice.

Hochul recently endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in her bid to be the Democratic Party’s nominee. She had previously stuck by President Joe Biden until he stepped down as the nominee.
