Lauren Boebert, Mike Johnston troll each other over Denver’s ‘Newcomer Playbook’
Look out. U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert and Denver Mayor Mike Johnston are throwing haymakers at each other on social media over illegal immigration.
The exchange started Tuesday morning, when Boebert slammed Johnston’s “Newcomer Playbook” — Denver’s how-to guide, offered to other jurisdictions, for “successfully integrating” immigrants.
“This is a guide that tells other cities how to follow the Denver model of bringing illegals into a city,” Boebert said in her tweet. “I wish I was joking, but this is reality. We need to vote out everyone in government who refers to illegal alien criminal invaders as ‘newcomers’ and do so quickly.”
Boebert, who currently represents Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District but is running for the much safer 4th Congressional District, added: “Our nation is being stolen from us and they’re complicit.”
Denver officials have just released a 22-page “Newcomers Playbook: A Guide to Welcoming Newcomers into Your City”.

Johnston, whose administration is poised to spend $90 million in taxpayer dollars for the city’s response to the illegal immigration crisis, has not been shy in promoting his administration’s “playbook,” highlighting it in press releases, social media and podcasts in recent weeks.
“Did I forget a section in the playbook about not vaping and getting handsy at Beetlejuice?” Johnston replied to Boebert on X. “We haven’t had that issue with any of our newcomers, but now that we know you’re paying attention, we’ll add it.”

Johnston’s jab was a reference to Boebert’s night at a performance of Beetlejuice in Denver that made international news after video emerged of her vaping and groping her male companion, despite earlier denials.
The back-and-forth got the attention of 9NEWS anchor Kyle Clark, who was quick to chime as well.
“This is the thanks Rep. Lauren Boebert gets from Denver’s mayor for coming into the city, seeing a show, and stimulating the economy?” Clark tweeted.
