County Sheriffs of Colorado scholarship opens to Boulder students

The County Sheriffs of Colorado has opened its scholarship program to Boulder County students, awarding one $500 scholarship for the fall or spring semester.

The state sheriffs’ association has held the annual scholarship program since 1978. This year, the program will be open to more than 30 Colorado counties.

“CSOC considers this an investment in the future and believes that our membership is helping to provide deserving students with an opportunity to make a positive contribution to society as a whole,” the association said.

All students in Boulder County and other eligible counties who are enrolled in, or applying to, a vocational training program or institution of higher learning in Colorado can apply.

In addition to Boulder County, this year, eligible counties include Alamosa, Cheyenne, Douglas, Elbert, Lincoln and more.

All high schools and higher education institutions in eligible counties have been notified of the scholarship. Students can receive application materials through these offices or at coloradosheriffs.org/scholarships.

Applications are due on Feb. 26.

A citizens committee will review each application and select a winner, to be announced by April 30.

Anyone with questions about the scholarship may contact CSOC’s Scholarship Program Coordinator Anthony Antuna at 720-344-4618 or aantuna@csoc.org.
