Free COVID-19 community testing site to open in Westminster

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is opening another free COVID-19 community testing site Tuesday in Westminster.
The testing site, at 10685 Westminster Blvd., will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will be operated in partnership with CDPHE, the city of Westminster and Mako Medical.
Walk-ins are available at the new testing site but pre-registration is encouraged to reduce wait times. Residents can registers online through Mako Medical.
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment recommends people get tested for COVID-19 at least five days after suspected exposure or immediately if experiencing symptoms.

COVID-19 symptoms can appear two to 14 days after exposure and include fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, body aches, headache, sore throat and loss of taste or smell.
People who suspect they have been exposed to the virus should isolate themselves while they await test results.
Currently, experts estimate 1 in 40 Coloradans are contagious with the coronavirus.
