COVID-19 community test site to reopen in Aurora

A little over two weeks after a COVID-19 testing site was closed in Aurora, officials say they are reopening as the state’s overall numbers continue to rise.
The community testing site will return to its previous location at the Aurora Sports Park at 19300 E. Colfax Ave. on Monday, and will operate from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, officials said.
Money given to Arapahoe County through the CARES Act fund these testing sites, and will provide a free COVID-19 test to anyone who wishes to be tested. Officials are asking for people interested to register online in advance, but say it’s not required.
On Nov. 9, the testing site will be relocated to the Aurora Center for Active Adults parking lot, 30 Del Mar Circle, but will continue to operate until further notice, according to a press release.
An additional test site will begin operating on Oct. 30 at Restoration Community Fellowship at 15660 E. Sixth Ave, in Aurora and will provide those without health insurance or are currently homeless the opportunity to receive a free walk-up test.
Despite the opportunity for another free testing site, this location will have limited tests each day and are warning of potentially long wait times.
