UPDATE: Former Secretary of State Natalie Meyer has been found and is safe
Former Secretary of State Natalie Meyer had been found and is safe, according to a 4 a.m. announcement via Twitter from Denver Police.
A “missing adult” alert was issued by Denver Police at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
Meyer was found around 4 a.m. near the intersection of West Quincy and South Wadsworth Blvd. by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s department, according to Mike Taplin, Jeffco public information officer. She told officers she was lost; her family was contacted and they picked her up.
Meyer, who is 89, served 12 years as Secretary of State, from 1983 to 1995.
Meyer went missing Sunday at 2 p.m., according to Denver Police information.

She owns a 2011 white Toyota Avalon with the specialty license plate “1SOS,” which was sighted by a citizen around 12:45 p.m. Monday and reported to Denver Police.
