2020 ELECTION | Hickenlooper to debate security: ‘I’m a candidate’

Colorado’s John Hickenlooper can’t seem to get any respect.
The Democratic presidential candidate and former Colorado governor is in Miami for the first 2020 debates.
Scott Detrow, a NPR reporter covering the election, tweeted that Hicklenlooper was asked Wednesday by a security person, “Are you here to pick up press credentials?”
The former Colorado governor responded no, “I’m a candidate.”
In the spin room, Hickenlooper told ABC Political Director Rick Klein the mistake is “the story of my life. I’m just a humble brewer.”
Hickenlooper gets the chance to get better name recognition Thursday night. He and Colorado rival Michael Bennet are in round two of the two-night debate.
Tonight’s first 10 candidates debate at 7 p.m. MDT on NBC, MSNBC, Telemundo, Twitter and YouTube.
