About 200 people rallied outside the office of U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner in downtown Denver Friday urging him to vote against confirming Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Some held signs for passing light rail trains and cars to see, with some drivers honking their support.

The crowd chanted slogans like “Hell, no, Kavanaugh” and “No rejection, no reelection.”

Some also lined up to talk to Gardner’s staff and were allowed inside in groups of five.

Retired teacher Barbara Gal of Lakewood said she heard from some of her former students during the past week about their sexual assaults for the first time and wanted to come to represent them.

Sheryl Noven of Highlands Ranch says someone can’t be elevated to the Supreme Court if there are any doubts about them.

After a daylong hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday in which Christine Blasey Ford told lawmakers that Kavanaugh had sexually assaulted her when they were teenagers and the nominee angrily denied the accusation, the committee voted along party lines to advance the nomination to the full Senate.

Later, under pressure from a pair of Republican senators who said they wanted more information on allegations against Kavanaugh, President Donald Trump ordered the FBI to reopen its background investigation of the judge, which is expected to delay a final Senate conformation vote.

The Washington Post reported that it’s “unclear whether an FBI review would include two other Kavanaugh accusers,” including Deborah Ramirez of Boulder, who told The New Yorker magazine for a story published Sept. 23 that Kavanaugh had exposed himself to her at a college party decades ago.
