Remember Joe the Camel?

A 1991 study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found Joe the Camel as recognizable as Mickey Mouse among 6-year-olds. Six years later, under pressure from the public and Congress, the R.J. Reynolds Co. stopped using Joe the Camel as a mascot for Camel cigarettes.
