Protesters at Colorado ICE facility taken into custody

Several protesters at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in suburban Denver were taken into custody as a sheriff’s office SWAT team removed them from a human blockade.

The Denver Post reports that protesters were arm-in-arm when they blocked access to the parking lot at the building in Centennial on Thursday afternoon.

Other protesters chanted and tried to slow down SWAT officers as they methodically moved in on the blockade.

The group protesting U.S. immigration policies had been at the site since Sunday, pitching tents, sitting in chairs and cooking meals outside.
