Jeff Sessions will speak at the Western Conservative Summit June 8

The Western Conservative Summit will hear from a member of President Trump’s immediate orbit for a second year in a row. The Centennial Institute, which puts on the annual gathering in Denver, said U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions will speak June 8.

Last year Trump attorney Jay Sekulow spoke on religious liberty at the event, then fielded reporters’ questions about the relatively early days of investigation of Russian influence in the 2016 election, as it began to reach into the president’s inner circle.

Doubtful that Sessions, the former senator from Alabama, will be too chatty about the progression of events since, given the president ire with his chief prosecutor for recusing himself from overseeing the investigation.

“We are excited to host Attorney General Jeff Sessions at the 2018 Western Conservative Summit,” Jeff Hunt, Centennial Institute director and Western Conservative Summit chairman, said in a statement. “His leadership as Attorney General exemplifies a commitment to the rule of law.”

Colorado Politics told you last week when National Rifle Association spokeswoman Dana Loesch and Parkland High shooting survivor Kyle Kashuv joined the lineup.

All four Republican candidates for governor are slated to the speak during the two-day ticketed event.
