The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel: Support efforts to pay teachers more

It’s not unusual – or unwarranted – for Colorado teachers to gripe about their pay. School funding has been a flashpoint for legislative spending battles for years.

But as we know all too well, the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights and other constitutional directives and spending limits make it difficult for the Legislature to free up more money for schools – even when the state’s economic performance is among the nation’s best.
