The Pueblo Chieftain: Next State Fair manager?

Sarah Cummings is leaving her position as general manager of the Colorado State Fair on a high note – showing a profit for two years in a row and a definite upbeat outlook for the future. She has accepted the position of executive director of Western Fairs Association and will be returning to California, where she worked prior to her two-year tenure in Pueblo.

“I have grown so close to the wonderful team here. And I see nothing but good things for the Colorado State Fair,” Cummings said upon tendering her resignation in mid-December with the customary 30-day notice.

Colorado Agriculture Commissioner Don Brown told her: “It’s their gain and our loss. We appreciate all you’ve done. And I felt like we were definitely moving in a positive direction.”
