The Pueblo Chieftain: Pueblo police may get drones

The City Council appears receptive to a Pueblo Police Department plan to purchase two $20,000 drones with cameras, mainly for conducting searches normally done through human surveillance. One of the drones would be designed to fly inside buildings.

The small drones would fly at about 30 miles per hour and up to 400 feet high. They could be airborne about 30 minutes before needing to be recharged.

The City Council raised no objections to the plan, agreeing that the propeller-driven drones could make some investigations and situations safer for officers.
