U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner sets Friday town hall in Grand Junction
U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner plans to hold a town hall in Grand Junction on Friday, his office announced. The Yuma Republican plans to answer questions chosen at random from the audience at the event.
The town hall is scheduled for 10-11:30 a.m. at the Robinson Theatre at Colorado Mesa University’s Moss Performing Arts Center at 1100 North Avenue in Grand Junction.
Parking is available nearby at Stocker Stadium on North 12th Street.
The date and time of the town hall could change, subject to the vote schedule in the Senate, his office said.
Gardner held three traditional town halls in August in Colorado Springs, Greeley and Lakewood. He also participated in a town hall in Durango earlier in August with U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet, Gov. John Hickenlooper and U.S. Rep. Scott Tipton after the officials toured the site of the Gold King Mine spill with EPA Director Scott Pruitt. In addition, he’s held several tele-town halls and numerous roundtable discussions with small groups this year.
Elected to his first term in 2014, Gardner sits on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, the Foreign Relations Committee, the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee and the Budget Committee. He chairs the Subcommittee on East Asia, the Pacific and International Cybersecurity Policy and the Subcommittee on Energy.
