The Pueblo Chieftain editorial: More pot busts; here are some thoughts on dealing with the problem

The ink was barely dry on our weekend editions in which we reported that busts of illegal marijuana grows were significantly down. Monday, we were back in the illegal grows busted business.

As we reported earlier this week, the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office discovered two unrelated illegal marijuana grows on opposite sides of the county Monday. The busts resulted in 16 arrests, the seizure of an estimated 250 pounds of dried marijuana and 128 plants.

The estimated street value of the marijuana seized from both grows is more than $500,000.
