If you’re a Democrat, a woman and thinking about running for office,  Emerge Colorado has somewhere you should be Saturday: the Driscoll Ballroom at the University of Denver.

The organization that recruits and trains women on the left to enter politics is holding an all-day training session. The timing is good for those who might jump into next year’s local, legislative or statewide races, as well as the seats on Colorado’s congressional delegation.

Emerge said it’s expecting 300 attendees to “learn first-hand from Colorado’s top elected officials and campaign consultants how to run for office and how to be an effective participant in the political process.”

The organization said interest from women to get into political races has spiked since “the stunning outcome of the 2016 election,” since, ya know, people who were With Her lost to the guy who made locker room banter a thing in politics.

One its alumni, Yolanda Avila won a three-way race for Colorado Springs City Council on April 4. Alumna Leslie Herod of Denver was elected to the state legislature last November by the largest majority of any statehouse candidate.

The cost for Saturday’s training with lunch is $46 “in honor of president number 46,” which is the one presumably elected to replace Donald Trump in 2020.

The training lasts from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a resource fait from 5  to 6:30 p.m.

The Driscoll Ballroom is located on the University of Denver at 2055 E Evans Ave.
