Ryan Parsell becomes Colorado’s deputy state treasurer next week
A familiar face around the Colorado Capitol is getting an office there. Ryan Parsell becomes Colorado’s deputy state treasurer next Monday.
He doesn’t have to be sworn in, which is good, since the last guy swore himself out of a job.
Parsell replaces Jon Forbes, who turned in his resignation after cursing, including the f bomb, at the state PERA board last month.
“We are thrilled to have Ryan join the team at the treasurer’s office,” said Treasurer Walker Stapleton. “Ryan’s skills as a manager and leader will be big assets as we continue to find ways to make Colorado more fiscally responsible.”
Parsell has been a regular presence at the statehouse as chief deputy clerk and recorder for El Paso County. He managed a staff more than 120 full-time employees and an operating budget of more than $11 million.
He also managed communications with local, state and national media.
Parsell has more than 10 years’ experience in private sector investment, as well as the non-profit and government sectors.
He was a 529 College Savings Plan specialist for T. Rowe Price.
