Secretary of State year-end closures include online

The Colorado Secretary of State‘s office will be closed Monday, Dec. 26, and Monday, Jan. 2, for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. Online services will also be unavailable from 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec.31, 2016, until noon on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, for yearly maintenance.

The office stressed in a news release that this downtime will affect services, such as filing and searching, and deadlines will not be extended. Business filers were reminded that the filing of paper forms, such as mergers, will not be possible between Dec. 31, 2016, and Jan. 3, 2017.  If a filing has an effective date of Dec. 31, 2016, Jan. 1 or 2, 2017, it should be submitted to the office before Dec. 30 and include a delayed effective date.

See Year-End Filing Tips for more information. Questions about this can be asked at 303-894-2200, ext. 2.
