Moms take case for clean air to the guv

Gov. John Hickenlooper will have at least one ally in his push for cleaner air: kids.

The organization Colorado Moms Know Best said Tuesday morning it would deliver more than 600 petitions to Hickenlooper’s Capitol office at noon.

“Colorado parents concerned about protecting clean air for their kids’ health signed the petition and are looking to the governor to stay strong on these policies in the wake of the presidential election results,” the organization said.

Hickenlooper has said he will continue to push for state-based solutions to air-quality problems, even though President-elect Donald Trump vowed Monday to get rid of regulations that throttle energy production.

Moms Know Best is pushing for Colorado’s Clean Power Plan. It supported the development of the Rush Creek wind farm in northeast Colorado.
