Letter: Bernie supporters sick of both parties

Editor:

Oh, Mr. Reagan! There is no magic pill to squash the hand of Democratic or Republican corruption. If there was, I would not have been so gung-ho for Bernie. In Michael Reagan’s opinion piece he called anyone who supported Bernie Sanders a freeloader. What a bunch of bologna! It’s like saying anyone who eats peanut butter and banana sandwiches has got to be trailer trash. This is what is wrong with the world. Everyone acts like they are too big for their britches. It usually takes some personal scandal for people to reveal their true colors, and then they simply look like hypocrites. Not everyone was born with a silver spoon in their mouth.

I was born and raised in Mississippi and had one pair of shoes for the longest time. I came from a broken home, worked from the age of 10 babysitting, and was able to land my first job as a pop-corn girl at a local theater at the age of 15. Afterwards, I was able to rent a modest studio apartment, making a couch out of cushions and milk crates. I would sometimes have to walk 5 miles to get to school, but still managed to graduate a year ahead of my class. Opinions are like bellybuttons, Mr. Reagan!

Bernie supporters are strong people. They are simply sick and tired of the media and the Democratic hawks throwing another Clinton into the mix as if it’s a done deal. They are also sick of Republican bigotry and arrogance. How do you solve this problem? Both find ways to pay off politicians for private interests.  Neither party seems to care if your historic neighborhood is bulldozed for a rickety shoebox building. Neither party seems to care if millions of people are exposed to high levels of toxic radiation in your drinking water.

Politicians are glorified telemarketers. Bernie supporters are simply looking for relief. He was an antacid for the stomach pains caused by idiots in office. If he goes to the dark side with Hillary, we are going to be left with a bigot. But hey, at least we know who we are dealing with.

May: French fried peace process

The French government last week initiated a new “peace process.” Ignoring the butchery underway in Syria, Iraq, Libya and Yemen, as well as the threat Iran now poses to the Middle East, their focus is the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The French initiative could turn out to be a waste of time, one more round of diplomatic […]

Pryor: Federal court ruling favors treating all hepatitis C Medicaid patients

A new federal ruling could be a game changer for hepatitis C patients, if Medicaid officials read it and do the right thing. Amazing new drugs can cure hepatitis C before it spreads, leads to expensive medical conditions and kills. The cures, with success rates exceeding 90 percent, save money and lives.
