Albright, Klobuchar rally Clinton supporters at Denver event (PHOTOS)

Roughly 100 Hillary Clinton supporters turned out Saturday to hear former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar speak at a fundraiser in Denver’s Platt Park neighborhood about Colorado’s importance in the presidential election and why they believe it’s critical to elect Clinton.

Clinton has “a backbone of steel,” said Klobuchar before introducing Albright, the first woman to serve as secretary of state. “Hillary is not a diva,” Albright proclaimed. She said that Clinton – the third woman to serve as secretary of state – is unique among recent presidential candidates because of her deep understanding of both foreign and domestic matters.

Albright, who spent her teens in Denver, greeted Myra Isenhart, her college roommate, before joining the Women for Hillary supporters and volunteers inside the packed home of Sandra Pierce and Carolyn Bell. (Albight’s father, Josef Korbel, was a professor at the University of Denver and was the founding dean of DU’s Josef Korbel School of International Studies, which was named in his honor in 2008.)
