Letter: Trump paving the way to elect another Reagan

Editor,

I would encourage my fellow liberty lovers to think of Donald Trump’s recent campaign tactics as showing up to play chess rather than simply agreeing to cooperate with the smirking carnies and their milk-bottle-toss game.An incredible event is unfolding before us, and I think we should all pause to appreciate it. Only an arrogant billionaire could assert the credible threat of a catastrophic third party run. Trump knows that if he plays the gypsy’s game, he will be taken like a naive fool.

Not only is Trump’s body-check on the Washington elites keeping the process honest for himself, but he is giving Americans the chance to consider many options. There are 17 Republicans in the race due to Donald Trump’s haughty independence.

Were it not for Donald Trump’s antics, we would have one big government establishment candidate easily squashing five challengers who split the conservative vote. Like most Republicans, I do not want Donald Trump to become president. However, I would choose him over every Democrat and at least two of the Republican candidates.

And because he is just credible enough, goofy Donald Trump has single-handedly created the conditions for America to finally elect Ronald Reagan’s successor.
