Letter: Sena writes in support of Clean Water Rule
Dear Editor,
Colorado is known for its wealth of outdoor activities, from hiking one of our beautiful mountain ranges to kayaking our mountain streams. Try to imagine our state with more than 73,000 miles unavailable for safe enjoyment. This is a reality that may be realized sooner than Coloradan’s know.
Colorado’s waterways are under attack by corporations that have whittled loopholes into the Clean Water Act, allowing our iconic mountain streams, creeks and waterways to become a major polluting destination. This dangerous corporate agenda is something that contaminates the drinking water of 3.7 million Coloradans and 117 million Americans nationwide. These malicious corporate tactics pad the bottom line of companies like Coors Brewing Co, allowing them to destroy the integrity of Colorado and one of its most notable features, our water.
This is something that simply will not stand for thousands of Coloradans who are taking action. We need Sen. Bennet to vote “yes” on the Clean Water Rule and show Colorado and the country that all our waters should be protected and that our water and the environment will not be a corporate casualty.
