Girl escapes attempted kidnapping, suspect arrested in Littleton
Littleton police have arrested a suspect who allegedly snatched a girl off her bike before she and a friend escaped on Saturday afternoon.
The attempted kidnapping took place around 4:30 p.m. in the 6800 block of South Prince Way, according to a Littleton Police Department news release.
At the time, a girl was riding her bike with a friend when an unknown man grabbed one of the girls from behind, the police said.
The girl escaped the man and rode off on her bike with her friend, according to police.
After initial investigation, police found and arrested a suspect, according to an update at 11:49 p.m.
“Through the investigation, it was determined the male was an unknown ethnicity, but appeared to have a tanned complexion with dark hair and was described as wearing a red sweatshirt and black pants,” police said in the news release.
Authorities are collecting neighbors’ surveillance footage and scanning the area as the investigation continues. Police urge the community to remain vigilant and those with information to contact Littleton Police Department dispatch at 303-794-1551.
