Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is seeking to discredit a Vanity Fair report that showed a picture of him eating what they called a dog. Kennedy is saying that it was a goat, and the issue has caused a ruckus against his campaign.

Appearing on NewsNation, Kennedy said, “I’m a very adventurous eater. I’ll eat anything, but I wouldn’t eat a dog.” Kennedy also said during a Tuesday appearance on CUOMO, “It is a goat, and you are what you eat.”

Kennedy said it’s ironic that Vanity Fair’s “persistent complaint against him” is that he promotes misinformation, given that “the whole article is just a dumpster of misinformation.”

The photo appears to show Kennedy and an unknown woman pretend-eating some sort of four-legged animal. Vanity Fair says they talked to a veterinarian, who said the animal is a dog.

Kennedy also appeared on Fox News to deny that he ate a dog, and said the picture was real.

Animal rights organization PETA blasted Kennedy for his conduct regardless of what the animal was.

“We can’t confirm the species solely based on that photo, but who cares how many ribs a dog, a goat, or RFK Jr. has; it’s what’s inside that counts, and all animals have a beating heart,” a PETA spokesperson told the Washington Examiner. “The problem is that some humans don’t seem to have one and see animals as something to eat rather than someone to respect.”

Democrats leaped at the opportunity to blast Kennedy, who some believe may take voters away from President Joe Biden, and reposted the photo of him and the animal.

Seemingly non-coincidentally, Kennedy posted a video of him late Tuesday “rescuing” a snake from his daughter’s friend’s house.

Kennedy also faced sexual assault allegations in the article — a former babysitter he employed said he groped her in a few instances between 1998 and 1999. He didn’t deny the allegation, choosing to decline to comment on it instead.

“I’ve said this from the beginning. I am not a church boy. I am not running like that. I said … I had a very, very rambunctious youth. I said in my announcement speech that I have … so many skeletons in my closet, that if they could all vote, I could run for king of the world,” Kennedy said.
