Elitch Gardens cancels July 4th fireworks — and not because of weather
While fireworks will fill the sky in many parts of the Denver metro area and Colorado this weekend, the rocket’s red glare will be absent above Elitch Gardens.
DENVER GAZETTE: Where to find July 4 fireworks events in Colorado
The amusement park located just outside of downtown Denver announced their annual fireworks show was canceled because of the lack of workers.
“Due to the Park’s modified summertime operating hours made necessary by the area’s reduced available workforce, we must cancel the planned 4th of July fireworks show this season,” park officials said in an emailed statement to The Denver Gazette.
In May, a fireworks show on Memorial Day was canceled at Elitch Gardens due to weather.
The fireworks-free amusement park will be open for regular hours beginning at 10:30 a.m. over the weekend for thrills, water rides and fun, the park said.
