Red Rocks Amphitheatre variance could mean more people at concerts

According to a representative of Denver Arts and Venues, a variance request has been submitted to the state that would allow a 2,500-person capacity at Red Rocks Amphitheatre with plans to increase that number throughout the season pending the pandemic situation.

No details have been released regarding whether or not this request is expected to be approved or denied. No official decision has been made, as of yet. However, it is worth noting that the variance request was completed with consultation from both City and State partners.

The pre-pandemic capacity of Red Rocks Amphitheatre was around 9,500. At 2,500, the venue would be operating at roughly 26%.

Other pandemic-related rules and restrictions are expected to be in place throughout concert season, including policies on social distancing and mask wearing.
