"Large wildfire" sparks in Colorado Springs, evacuation ordered with structures threatened

According to the Colorado Springs Fire Department, a “large wildfire” has sparked in the Bear Creek Park area. The fire was first reported on the department’s Twitter account at 11:34 AM. Firefighters are on the scene.

The fire is currently burning brush and grass. Structures are threatened. A tweet published 15 minutes later ordered that all homes on Electra Drive to evacuate.

The public is asked to avoid the area. Information on the exact size of the fire has not been released.
