Denver is continuing to find ways to improve navigation for pedestrians, bicyclists and buses in downtown.

The city announced Friday that it will be proceeding with its plans for South Broadway, reports the Denver Post.

The design includes protected and “high comfort” bike lanes, a 24-hour transit-only lane, loading zones and pedestrian ramps, reports the Post.

The city first began studying Broadway in 2015, then implemented trial updates before locking down a design this year. The plan documents can be found on the project’s website.

After testing out protections for bicyclists and pedestrians, the city conducted a study and found that people traveling with those methods generally felt safer, with little impact to drivers’ travel time.

Denver is currently gathering public input via an online survey to find out how it can continue to make downtown a safer and more comfortable place for those traveling outside a vehicle.
