Sanders to campaign in Denver in September

Presidential hopeful U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., will make a campaign stop in Denver on Sept. 9, according to a Saturday press release from his campaign.

The “rally with supporters” will be Sanders’ first Colorado stop of his 2020 campaign, the release stated, citing a recent Emerson poll that shows Sanders leading Democratic presidential primary candidates in Colorado with 26%, followed by former Vice President Joe Biden at 25% and U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren at 20%.

The event, free and open to the public, will be held at 6 p.m. at Denver’s Civic Center Park. RSVP is encouraged, and entrance will be granted on a first come, first serve basis, according to the release.
