RTD tickets sold in Denver through new Uber app feature (VIDEO)

A new program that offers real-time transit information and ticketing within the Uber app in Denver is showing some promising initial results, according the rideshare company.
The Uber Transit ticketing program is a joint partnership with Uber, the Regional Transportation District and software payment company Masabi.
Since launching in May, Uber announced that more than 1,200 RTD tickets have been sold in Denver, with growth averaging at 42% each week during the program’s rollout period.
“The data we’re seeing from the launch of Uber Transit affirms that people appreciate choices, and that the future of mobility lies in providers working together to deliver on public expectations,” RTD CEO and General Manager Dave Genova said at a July 9 press event.
Denver riders are the first worldwide have the option to use Uber to plan their transit trips with real-time information and end-to-end directions, Uber Technologies Inc. said.
