WATCH: No Amazon HQ2 for Denver? Don’t sweat it, says chamber exec
Denver learned this week that it lost out in the competition to host Amazon.com Inc.’s new second headquarters – despite a bid from local officials that they’re still largely keeping a secret.
Instead, Amazon says it will develop two “HQ2” sites in Queens, New York, and northern Virginia across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C.
Kyle Clark sat down with Andrew Graham – president and CEO of Denver medical billing firm Clinic Service Corp., who in September was elected chairman of the Centennial-based South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce – to ask about the HQ2 race and what metro Denver got (or didn’t get) out of it.
Graham says the process shows that metro Denver can be a player when it comes to attracting big business, and that the region’s various chambers of commerce can work together.
“I think we learned we can do it as a region,” he said.
