No one would mistake Scott Tipton for a firebrand. The Third Congressional District’s representative is low key, preferring to work in a collaborative fashion with colleagues rather than getting drawn into emotional debates on the House of Representatives floor.

And that’s OK. That leadership style has served our district well during Tipton’s time in office. He’s generally done a good job of looking out for Pueblo, which is at the eastern end of a far-flung district that stretches all the way to the Western Slope.

He’s fought for greater protection against forest fires, particularly by clearing areas around power lines. He’s advocated for doctors to prescribe alternatives to opioids and for increased funding for mental health and addiction treatment programs.
