The Colorado conservative nonprofit Principles That Matter has a new website politicos will want to check out, ColoradoPolicy.org. The site tones down the partisan rhetoric to help moderates see things more clearly from the perspective on the right, with facts not exclamation marks.

“We want our elected officials to propose solutions to big issues, but when they do it’s usually government solutions that rarely work, and often backfire,” said Allen Fuller, the leader of the think tank that helps people find answers through conservative principles. “So PTM pulled together ideas and resources that are proven to create the freedom and opportunity we love in Colorado.

“Any citizen, activist, candidate or policymaker from any party, or no party, can go to ColoradoPolicy.org, learn about big issues facing our state, and find ideas to move us forward. Granted, our proposals are lean on big, industrial age government programs, so they won’t be popular in some circles.”

The site is developing well-written, easy-to-navigate deep dives on the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights, education, energy, fracking, oil and gas setbacks, immigration, marijuana and public safety.

Though the principles are conservative, the focus is on “middle-of-the-road citizens,” the think tank says, adding that their work is gettin picked up more and more by national policy organizations.

“PTM is singularly focused on reaching disengaged, moderate citizens and introducing them to effective public policy perspectives and solutions based on principles of the American founding,” the site states.

“Our goal is to get the conversation going about policies that help government be better at what it does while getting it out of places where Coloradans can take care of it ourselves,” Fuller tells Colorado Politics.

PTM also provides training, including for elected officials, to help them connect with moderate constituents.
