New Era Colorado isn’t telling millennials and other younger constituents who to vote for, presumably as long as it’s preferably a Democrat.

The organization that typically supports progressives is telling everybody how to vote, as far as the process goes. The organization has a simple-to-understand voter’s guide online that gets to the point for those perhaps newer to voting in Colorado primaries.

Moreover, this year is the first to allowed unaffiliated voters to participate in the party primaries.

“New Era Colorado has always been committed to getting more young people involved in our democracy, regardless of their party affiliation,” Lizzy Stephan, New Era’s executive director, said in a statement. “In addition to registering 40,000 young voters this cycle by November, we want to ensure that young voters have all of the information and support they need to participate in our elections.”

She said nearly 47 percent of Colorado voters younger than 40 are registered as unaffiliated.

“This is one of the most competitive and expensive primaries Colorado has seen in a long time and it’s attracting a lot of attention,” Stephan said. “We’ve seen increasing young voter participation in our elections over the last 10 years, and with new primary voting laws, we have a huge opportunity this primary season to get more young voters involved in shaping our democracy.”
