Greeley’s KUNC will help search America’s soul on the issue of guns
Purple Colorado is a battleground for a lot of hot-button issues. And one of the state’s most prominent public radio news teams is now going to apply its experience covering those issues to a new, national media endeavor that aims to get to the bottom of the country’s endlessly debated relationship with guns. Reports the Greeley Tribune:
KUNC, northern Colorado’s National Public Radio affiliate, was selected to participate in Guns & America, a two-year, national reporting collaborative of 10 public media stations …
…The Guns & America national reporting collaborative will be headquartered and supported by a five-person production team at WAMU in Washington, D.C., and 10 Audion Fellowship reporters to be placed in public newsrooms across the country, including KUNC in Greeley.
The Trib quotes a news release from the radio station that says the fellowship, “will train and empower a diverse corps of innovative, cross-platform journalists to cover difficult and divisive topics and lead the public media system…”
