Denver among 20 cities on Amazon HQ shortlist

DENVER – Denver is still in the running to become the home of Amazon’s proposed second headquarters.

Denver is among 20 cities on a shortlist of contenders announced by Amazon on Thursday.

New York, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Austin, Atlanta and Miami are some of the others cities that were selected from the original list of 238.

Denver’s pitch emphasized Colorado’s workforce and lifestyle over economic incentives.

Amazon is promising $5 billion in investment and as many as 50,000 jobs over the next 15 years. It’s expected to pick a location this year.
